Pragma SSH Expands FIPS Security Support to Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2
Austin, Texas {September 5, 2014} – Pragma Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-class
remote access and security software, announces that its Fortress SSH Server and Client products
now have Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 certification expanded for Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. FIPS certification and inspection process was conducted by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) at its US Government approved FIPS certification lab.
Pragma Systems SSH is the only SSH Server and SSH Client available that holds its own
FIPS 140-2 certificate for Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 issued by
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cryptographic Module Validation Program
(CMVP). Adherence to standards and achieving compliance certifications are two cornerstones of

Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) are publicly announced set of standards that
describe document processing, encryption algorithms and other information technology standards
developed by the United States federal government for use in computer systems. The purpose of
FIPS is to ensure that all federal government and agencies adhere to the same guidelines regarding
security and communication.
